Today I received the upper and lower ram chips for the Spectrum practice board, so I pulled the old ICs and put in sockets. Then fitted two new ram chips as previously discussed.

Having done this the Speccy started up into it’s normal boot screen but a little off colour …

The wavy lines are due to phone camera / crt interference, the picture was rock steady though. Next was a little fiddling with the colour pots on the Spectrum board, which got us this.

Now a very clean white display on the composite line out as we don’t have the rf modulator. Finally a ram test on the Retroleum board again, oh dear more work to do
