Recently in one of the Commodore 64 themed Facebook groups I saw a post offering a homebrew multicart for the Commodore 64. It was being offered as a single cartridge holding several games which could be selected from a menu using a joystick. This looked like a great idea so I ordered one.

Once delivered and plugged in the cartridge loaded in a couple of seconds into the menu screen to select a game.

Once a game is selected using keyboard or the joystick it loads quickly into the selection ready to play. The megacart 1 (a second version is also being made available with a different set of games) is a great addition for some nearly instant gaming on the C64, although some games require the joystick in a different port than the menu does, but this seems to be a C64 programmers thing and not the Megacart itself. As you can see from the menu screenshot above there are some great games to choose from, and the maker also customised the selection on request.

Here is a quick look at the Megacart in action on the Commodore 64 in my games room.
